Guest Portal: Let Anyone Create Pushes Under Your Brand
TL;DR: Guest Portal is an opt-in feature that gives unauthenticated visitors a clean, branded page to create text, URL, and QR pushes on your custom domain. No account needed. You control everything through your workspace policy. Available now on Team, Organization, and all Self-Hosted Pro tiers. Pro subscribers get this feature grandfathered in.
The Use Case
Password Pusher workspaces with custom domains already give teams a fully branded, secure sharing tool. But until now, everyone who wanted to create a push needed an account.
For companies offering Password Pusher as a service to their broader community — clients, customers, partners, contractors — that meant either provisioning accounts for everyone or pointing people to pwpush.com instead of the branded domain. Neither is ideal. Guest Portal closes that gap.
What’s New
Guest Portal adds an opt-in page where unauthenticated visitors can create self-destructing pushes on your branded domain. They see your branding, your domain, and a clean minimal interface. No Password Pusher marketing. No sign-up prompts. Just a “Log in” link for team members who need the full dashboard.
Here’s what it looks like in practice:
- Enable it from Workspace → Policy → Security → Guest Portal (hosted) or Admin Settings → Guest Portal (self-hosted)
- Requires an active custom domain — Guest Portal is tied to your branded experience, not to pwpush.com
- Default is off — nothing changes until you explicitly turn it on
- Text, URL, and QR pushes only — file attachments, email delivery, Requests, and dashboard fields stay authenticated
- Rate-limited — 20 pushes per hour per IP address to prevent abuse
- Invisible to member dashboards — guest-created pushes don’t appear in team dashboards, API lists, or workspace stats. The secret URLs still work normally.
- Optional custom title — set a portal title like “Acme Corp Secure Share” to make the page your own
API create on custom domains stays authenticated regardless of the Guest Portal setting. The two access paths are intentionally separate.
Availability
Guest Portal is available now on:
- Hosted: Team and Organization plans (custom domain required). Also available to existing Pro subscribers on legacy plans.
- Self-Hosted Pro: All tiers — Starter, Advanced, and Enterprise
Anonymous push creation on pwpush.com itself is unchanged — Guest Portal is exclusively for workspaces with custom domains and verified self-hosted instances.
To get started, head to your workspace policy settings and look for the new Guest Portal section under Security.
